2018 New Orleans Tour
NOLA
New Orleans, Louisiana
New Orleans is one of the world's most beautiful and fascinating cities. It is home to a truly unique melting pot of culture, food and music. You will learn and experience New Orleans, one of America's most culturally and historical destinations.
The Historic French Quarter:
The Oldest Neighborhood in New Orleans
Nestled in a bend of the Mississippi River, the first New Orleans settlers chose to establish their community in what is now the French Quarter, thanks to its relatively high elevation compared to the surrounding area. Their instincts proved correct, as hundreds of years later, the French Quarter was largely unaffected when Hurricane Katrina devastated the neighboring lower elevation areas.
New Orleans’ shares a blend of historical architectural influence from French to Spanish heritage in architecture, design and culture. As a port city, many immigrants found their way to New Orleans, including refugees from the Haitian and French revolutions, as well as Irish, German, African, and American immigrants looking for a better life. This led to the unique mix of culture, cuisine, language, and religion that to this day sets New Orleans apart from any other city. Touring the New Orleans French Quarter provides a rich education of the many cultural influences that have make up the history of the city.
Feeding the Multitudes
Since 1990, Victory Fellowship in New Orleans, Louisiana, Pastor James and Christina Weidner’s Home church, has been hosting a completely free Independence Day barbecue that feeds and ministers to thousands of men, women and children from all across the New Orleans Metropolitan Area. On our trip we will take part in the day of fun, food, worship, ministry and giving that will fill you with Christ’s love as you pour it out to others.
On this day, the people of Victory Fellowship believe that we are not just celebrating a holiday, but also sharing the Good News with everyone. While their physical needs are being met, we also provide ministry for their spirit, such as evangelism, prayer, healing, and the love of Jesus!
Matthew 25:35-36 "For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to me.”
