Admissions Process for levels 9 to 12  (ages 14 to 17)

Each prospective CDS family must take the following steps to complete the application process:

1. View the Mandatory LBA Parent Orientation

The LBA Parent Orientation is a required component of our admissions process. It’s a terrific opportunity to see LBA in action; through a video, you’ll visit our facilities, meet our teachers, our staff, the students, and other faculty members of the LBA family. You will also hear about what other LBA families think about the school. Our school Principal and Program Administrators will also explain the school’s program, our curriculum, and philosophy.

3. Notification

Decisions for admissions are made in May for an August start date (1st semester) and in December for a February start date (2nd semester). Parents will receive a response within 5 school days after all required application materials have been received and all assessments and interviews have been completed.

Failure to submit the needed documents will delay the process.

4. Assessment

Levels 9 to 12 assessment tests are given in December and April on Friday mornings from 8:30am - 12:00noon. The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule the assessment after all necessary documents have been submitted.

Levels 9 to 12 Assessment Requirement

Levels 9 to 12 assessments include an oral interview with the  Administrator to determine verbal and reading comprehension levels. The written assessments include grammar and vocabulary, writing, and math tests to determine grade level abilities.

5. Results and Parent Interview

Student and Parent Interviews

The assessment tests will be graded and the results returned to the parents within 5 school days. If the student has passed the tests, the Admissions Office will contact the parents to schedule a parent and student interview. This is an opportunity for parents to discuss their child, share information, and ask questions they may have about the school. The Administrator, Principal, or another member of the Admissions Team will informally discuss classroom procedures, expectations, objectives and goals for the student.

Following the interviews, the Admissions Office will send the final application results within a week via e-mail.

6. Acceptance and Confirmation:

Students who pass the assessment will receive the Acceptance letter via e-mail. Prospective families should confirm acceptance of the seat within the period stated on the letter. Upon accepting of the offer, students will be on a 9-week probation period which will determine if they are a good fit and can continue education in LBA. It will start on the child’s first day of school.

7. Pay Initial Fees to Secure the Seat

An Admissions team member will assist you on the required initial fees to secure the seat. The Admissions Office will send a final Enrollment letter to confirm the student has finished the admissions process and has been enrolled in LBA. Please note, the student is not considered enrolled in LBA until this letter has been delivered to the parents.

8. Waiting List

Information on the waiting list will be sent if needed.
