Admissions Process for EARLY LEARNERS (AGES 2-4) (EL 2, EL3 and EL4)
Each prospective CDS family must take the following steps to complete the application process:
- View the Mandatory LBA Parent Orientation
The LBA Parent Orientation is a required component of our admissions process. It’s a terrific opportunity to see LBA in action –- through a video, you’ll visit our state-of-the-art facilities, meet our teachers, our staff, the students, and other faculty members of the LBA family. You will also hear about what other LBA families feel about the school. Our school Principal and Program leads will also enlighten you about the school’s program, our curriculum and and philosophy.
To schedule an orientation, please email admissions@charitydreamshanghai.cn. The Parent Orientation is for the Parents. Kindly do not bring your children at this time.

4. Assessment
All prospective students that were shortlisted during Open Enrolment, are required to go through and pass an assessment. Early Learners tests are given at the end of April for the next Fall Semester. The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule the assessment after all necessary documents have been submitted.
EL2 (2years old) and EL3 (3years old) Group Assessment Your child will join a group of kids in a simulated classroom environment and will last approximately 30 minutes to an hour. This is important so we can observe your child readiness for school in their own learning environments. You are required to bring a snack and a water bottle for your child for this assessment.
EL4(PK4) (4years old) Individual Assessment is a blend - in assessment, with current LBA PK4 students and will last approximately 30 minutes to an hour. This is important so we can observe the children in their own learning environments where they are already comfortable and familiar with the routine. It also gives us an opportunity to see your child in a classroom environment, interacting with teachers and peers. You are required to bring a snack and a water bottle for your child for this assessment.
Initial Assessment results will be handed out on the same day followed by the final detailed result within a week via e-mail.
5. Results, Acceptance, and Confirmation
Students who pass the assessment will receive the Acceptance letter via e-mail. Prospective families should confirm acceptance of the seat within the period stated on the letter. Upon accepting of the offer, students will be on a 9-week probation period which will determine if they are a good fit and can continue education in LBA. It will start on the child’s first day of school.
6. Pay Initial Fees to Secure the Seat
An Admissions team member will assist you on the required initial fees to secure the seat.
