LBA’s Chinese program
LBA’s Chinese language and culture program compose of native speakers’ Chinese course and non-native speakers’ Chinese course. The Chinese Program runs from Kindergarten to High school. All the students learn to read, write and speak fluently in Chinese through curricula designed for both native and non-native speakers.
Native Speakers’ Chinese Course

Learning Goals:
For native speakers, LBA’s goal in Chinese is to train up students’ Chinese speaking, reading and writing ability. In addition, the program aims at stimulating students’ interest in learning Chinese language and developing their good reading and writing habits and self-learning ability. Besides, the program also wants to cultivate students' literary knowledge and let them love Chinese culture while learning Chinese language. The program is also intended to provide the opportunities for students to take the initiative to explore and engage in team learning so as to inspire students' rich imagination, creativity, visual thinking skills, logical thinking ability and appreciative capability.
Non-native Speakers’ Chinese Course

Learning Goals:
For non-native speakers, LBA’s goal in Chinese is to equip each student to use Chinese language as a tool for communication and help them get familiar with Chinese culture and Chinese people’s way of life. This program not only stimulates students' interest in learning Chinese, but also allows them to be exposed to and understand Chinese traditional and modern cultures. This program focuses on training students' ability to grasp preliminary Chinese, for example conversation with others in Chinese, recognizing Chinese characters, mastery of verbal vocabulary, and reading Chinese articles and books at a general level. Learning Chinese language and culture in LBA helps non-native students to develop cross-culture thinking and open-mindedness as well.
